Museum Island
Represents some of the best museums in Berlin and belongs to one of the most important museum complexes of the world. It was awarded UNESCO World Heritage Status in 1999
Pergamonmuseum – consist of the Collection of Classical Antiquities as well as the Museum of Ancient Near East.
Altes Museum – has been majorly destroyed during the second World War and rebuilt until 1966. The museum exhibits the Classical Greek and Roman Antiquities Collection.
Neue Museum - its doors to the public opened once again in October 2009. The building now provides a new home for the Egyptian Museum and the Papyrus Collection and houses the famous bust of Nefertiti.
Alte Nationalgalerie – reopened in 2001 for the public and houses one of the most important collections of 19th century paintings and sculptures in Germany.
Bode Museum - reopened to the public in October 2006, the museum now holds the sculpture and Byzantine art collection.

Hamburger Bahnhof
The Museum of Contemporary Art re-opened in November 1996 based on the plans of the architect Josef Paul Kleihues as part of the National Gallery. The museum is dedicated to contemporary art from 1950 to present.

New National Gallery
The New National Gallery at the Kulturforum Berlin exhibits mainly 20th Century masters. The building a modern work from Ludwig Mies van der Rohe opened in 1968 as a counter piece to the Old National Museum based in East Berlin.
